Sales Development Representative

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, well-organized team player to become a key member of our growing sales team. You will spend much of the day on the phone, making outbound calls to prospects. You will primarily be responsible for generating interest in target accounts and working with Account Executives (AE) on sales opportunities. In addition, you will have opportunities to run sales cycles independently.

This is a great role for someone who has experience as an SDR, enjoys the role (with success!) and is interested in developing their sales skills.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Generate new business sales leads through a mixture of cold calling, following up marketing campaigns and inbound enquiries
  • Work with existing clients and LinkedIn to find referrals and appropriate contacts within target accounts
  • Work on account growth with AEs and independently
  • Schedule meetings with target accounts
  • Run sales cycles with guidance, including generating, vetting, negotiating and closing deals directly with customers where possible
  • Understand Verto Analytics’ offerings and effectively communicate and apply to each prospect’s needs. Answer questions about product and prices. Prepares proposals to meet specific needs of customer.
  • Accurately enter, update, and maintain daily activity and prospect information into Salesforce database, including comprehensive and up-to-date client information
  • Achieve and exceed monthly quotas and objectives
  • Work closely with sales and marketing team members to achieve organizational goals
  • Give polished presentations and online demos to customers and provide a solution that clearly resolves any customer pain


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects/deals at the same time
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Record of accomplishment and achievement in academic and/or professional areas

  • You are a team player and can share the credit, solicit the opinions of others and display team spirit. No lone wolves
  • An innate hunger for personal and company success combined with a great personality

We also appreciate:

  • Interested in or experience with data/information products with basic knowledge of analytics tools and intermediate XLS skills
  • Interested in or experience with operating in one or more of the following the industries: internet, mobile apps, advertising and media
  • Experience running product demos over conference calls to suitable prospect customers
  • Based either in the Bay Area or New York City
